This shows the William Parsons' family for their first U.S. census taking, having only been in the states several months. Fred was only 5 years old. His father, William was working "at pottery" while his mother, Mary, stayed at home to care for Fred and his siblings: Mary, 3; Elizabeth, 2; and Laura, 7 months old.
