In 1850, Elizabeth at 7 years old, was the youngest of five children; Sylvester, 13; Wilmer, 11; Hester, 10; and Lydia, 8. Her father was working as a laborer.

Peter Caraccioli, at 46 years old was also residing in the same house with his wife Mary, 28. Peter was a saloon keeper and Napoleon is listed as an engineer.
